welcome to Lake Constance, welcome to LakeMUN.

Just about a year ago an enthusiastic team from the Club of International Politics created the first international LakeMUN in Friedrichshafen. 100 students from Germany, Austria and Switzerland gathered in the halls of Zeppelin University and transported themselves right into the hallways of the United Nations. Controversial debates were heatedly conducted among the delegates: Intervene in Syria or not? How to secure reconstruction of Libya? What are the responsibilities of the international community’s facing an imminent food crisis?

With the international, always watching, press on their heels, delegates had to engage into carefully planned diplomatic manoeuvres without losing their firm stand when facing opposing opinions. And indeed, great solutions were found and innovative resolutions were passed by our committees.

But then, after days of debates and nights of ballroom glamour, LakeMUN 2011 already came to an end. Does this mean that the excitement faded? No, it certainly did not. As soon as the summer break was over, we began to work on LakeMUN 2012 and we are eager to report: It looks good. 

At the moment, we are tirelessly engaging in talks with possible sponsors to create another memorable LakeMUN for you with interesting workshops and talks to frame our conference.
